My main beef with Cullen is that he says Eric was a chad

I would be willing to entertain the possibility that Eric was a psychopath, if Cullen would drop his ridiculous insistence that Eric was a chad.

Eric was not a chad. He was a scrawny little guy with an inferiority complex. It's debatable whether he died a virgin. (I think he did.)

Was he bullied? Yes, but I don't believe that "revenge" was his main motive. The bullying was a symptom of the underlying problem - his perception that people did not *respect* him. He craved *respect*. He demanded *respect*.

Some of us have spent the past two decades searching for the answer to the riddle of Columbine, only to realize that the answer is right there on the pages of Eric's journal:

Eric felt *dissed*. Do you know how many people die every year because someone dissed someone else? Well, Eric felt dissed by the entire school. It really pissed him off.

Was he justified in being as angry as he was? Were the other kids so exceptionally cruel to him that his rage toward them was justified? Probably not. There are tons of teenage guys out there who experience social rejection and extreme sexual frustration. Very few of them end up committing mass murder. So obviously Eric's relative lack of success in the social/sexual marketplace is not sufficient to explain his actions. Like Elliot Rodger, he had a massive sense of entitlement - he felt that the world owed him female companionship.

Why was he so angry? Maybe he was an irretrievable psychopath; maybe he was just a really screwed-up kid. It's hard to say. But one thing we can say with certainty was that he was *not* a swaggering stud who "outscored the football team" - that is bullshit.

Yeah, he claims to have studied the case for at least ten years but appears to have retained zero knowledge of the topic.

cullen is basically every tumblr girl who worships e&d but is middle aged and has fantasies of buttfucking them when they got caught stealing.

he has no degree, nothing to support his claims in his book or anything like that.

he just got lucky and got his fanfiction printed by a publisher instead of wattpad.

Something about Cullen doing his media rounds every time another shooting happens is sickening to me. His book was just revisionism.

I don’t think i’ll ever take Cullen seriously. You can sense his weird obsession with Eric from a mile away.

Yeah, but you have to take into account that mass murder is illegal. People usually won't throw their lives away just because they feel rage. Usually they'll just play video games and create art and stuff. That's why so many "red flags" are "missed". Angry guys are dime a dozen. It's just that stuff like life or even a decade in prison is an excellent deterrent.
I think that smouldering rage may have some kind of a protective effect from suicidality. Like think about all these guys on incel forums glorifying Elliot Rodger posting posts full of hate. And yet you barely get any strictly inceldom-motivated killers. There's Elliot Rodger, the van guy and the gym guy.

I think that Eric was manipulated by Dylan. Like the respect stuff was his massively visible weak point and Dylan was a one person suicide cult and was good at manipulating people and exploited it to get a partner in crime. Note how Dylan had another angry buddy before that chilled out after he got a girlfriend. It's possible Dylan was "working" on him already and he basically avoided getting manipulated into committing mass murder-suicide with Dylan.
People don't realise that Dylan was basically like a non-trans version of Andrew Blaze.

When it comes to exceptional cruelty, bullying of Eric and Dylan included someone throwing a cup of faeces at them. Also their employer claimed that Jocks would regularly harass them after school, throw bottles at them from cars, etc.
