Nikolas Cruz and Jesse Osborne both looked up to the Omar Mateen. Nikolas Cruz once said it was cool that he "killed a bunch of gay people" and Jesse Osborne had pictures of him on his iPhone.

Anthony Barbaro, the Olean High School shooter, reportedly heard about the New Orleans sniper, Mark Essex, and had even mentioned to a friend: “how funny it must feel to be a sniper holding off people.”

Jennifer San Marco mentioned David Berkowitz in her newspaper “The Racist Press” but I don’t really know if he “influenced” her at all. She was actually living in the same area as him when she was a teenager.

Oh ok. I remember hearing this from a documentary I watched on her. I thought it was a lesser known fact so I thought I'd share it. My bad.

Peter Langman's chart is informational and seemingly accurate. They should probably add the STEM shooting, since one of the shooters wanted to plan it for 4/20/18. How original.

Wish I knew more about David Moore. He was the Noblesville West Middle School shooter. I’m surprised he was influenced by Adam Lanza, I guess only Peter Langman knew that.

Nikolas Cruz might’ve been inspired by James Holmes as well because of a screenshot of the Wikipedia article on the Aurora shooting he had on his phone.

Elliot Rodger researched George Sodini. What’s funny is that incels and incel related forums and online communities used to refer to going on a killing spree as “going Sodini” but then after Elliots rampage he replaced this earlier saying with himself and now it is common for people to use the phrase “going ER”, when referring to a mass murder event.

I’d say it’s because he managed to do it “bigger and better” than the last guy. That’s usually the way it works. Then he brought more attention to the community.

Not a mass murderer but an non-fatal bombing case from Brazil:
Nelson Leonel: Unknown Jorge Mirândola (letters writer; found to be innocent): Ted Kaczynski
I included links for this case because it only has one online report in the Internet, so this Brazilian newspaper archive contains a lot more information, but contains various report on the incident, so I decided to only keep sources for this thread context.
Edit: made it more clear

Pekka Eric auvinen was notably influenced by Eric Harris
Matti saari was influenced by auvinen , but I find it curious that he planned his attack earlier.

Yeah, he said that he had been planning the attack since 2002 but I guess hearing about Auvinen made him feel more inspired because Auvinen was a Finnish Shooter with similar viewpoints to himself.

Yes, that had caught my attention. Also because he bought his weapon in the same place they auvinen, among other things, it is likely that as you say, Pekka's attack only found him more inspired.

TJ Lane: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (news video said he admitted to being inspired by Columbine, his “killer” shirt is similar to Eric’s “natural selection” one, mentioned “another school shooting” to his sister, so I think it’s safe to say Columbine was an influence for sure)
