Subject: Another theory on Wayne and Kathy 22/11/2020, 01:56
I've been thinking about this for a while and perhaps the reason that they haven't spoken about Eric at all is because it would be too painful for them to do and that they are not ready for that. I mean, Sue Klebold telling her stories of Dylan was probably painful for her and Dylan is widely seen as the depressive follower, I imagine Wayne and Kathy telling their stories about Eric when he is seen as a malicious psychopath would be arguably more painful. I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts on this though.

I think Randy Brown put it best in his AMA on Reddit:
Q. Do you think the Harris’ will ever tell their side of the story?
A. NO. There is nothing to tell. They failed. They made bad decisions. They missed obvious signs. They ignored giant red flags. They missed giant yellow flags. They failed.
There, that is their story. A very short book.

i do think they failed as parents. they found out eric made a pipe bomb in his bedroom and did nothing. they also knew he was a pretty angry and unstable kid and still did nothing. i can sort of understand sue klebolds thing with not suspecting much of dylan as he was quite quiet and didn't do anything all that suspicious, but eric, eric showed clear signs and wayne and kathy did nothing.

I think Kathy worried about Eric. She cried when he was arrested... I think she may have deferred to Wayne when maybe she wanted to take another course of action. OR Eric pulled the wool over her eyes.

Randy is an idiot, and his bias towards the Harrisses are so disgusting. The entire Browns' disgust me honestly.

Both parents(the klebolds and the harrises) probably were good parents, but not every parent is perfect and they made mistakes. Both boys showed signs, some clearer than others, and the parents should’ve noticed them... but it wasn’t their fault they didn’t. They were probably good parents but they made mistakes is all i can say. I do think if the Harrises spoke out more about Eric, how it was like raising him, how he behaved, etc we could understand Harris better imo

I think Eric could be an amazing actor, provided he wasn't angry. He admits as much in his journals. Still, his parents had to have caught glimpses of his uncontrollable rage. We know of at least one occasion that he blew a fuse when Dylan didn't play well at a soccer game. It couldn't have been the first or last time. I think they believed Eric because they wanted to, anything else would have made them have to look at where they may have made mistakes as parents. Also, I still wonder if Wayne Harris pulled some strings to have the Brown's complaints buried.

Well, I think they kept silent also because their lawyer recommended them to them. I suppose they are trying to get through the moment in silence, although it would be interesting to see them talk, maybe their brother Kevin. I always liked hearing how Eric's life was since he was a child, maybe there we can see experiences and arguments beyond "a psychopath" and we could see a more "human" side in him as happened with Dylan. We just have to wait, maybe at some point one of them dares to speak .. I just hope they can overcome everything that happened, it must be very painful.

I absolutely agree on the whole acting thing. Sure, now it's easy to point flaws, but aren't we all easily-deceivable beings? Aren't we all deceived everyday with mass media? We're lied to 10 to 200 times a day, and tell a lie ourselves an average of 1 to 2 times in the same period... Objective truth is a human concept, so even still, it's a fallible thing. We love to label our truths and point in the direction of what we think are responsible of whatever's being analyzed... Maybe there ain't an answer for everything, although it's in our nature to keep digging until we find an answer suitable...

YESS! That's it, we are and we do. We justify the lies we tell others, tell ourselves we're doing it for the greater good or for somewhat noble reasons. I've had similar discussions about whether there is one undesputable truth or it's a matter of perspective. I'm not even sure we as individuals truly understand our own motives. Which maes it near impossible to know the truth Bout anyone else's. We can get close, maybe?

Lol. I'll have to test that one out. But I wonder if that includes all the times you feel forced to say something nice, just to be polite?
