Why isn't this thread active more? A Port Arthur-esque event just occurred in one of the safest states in the US and there aren't 10 messages every 1 minute. At least 22 dead and 50-60 wounded, but again, it could be either scaled down slightly, or it could rise to 23-25.

I was thinking the same thing. This feels a bit like aramoana, the perpetrator being at large so long and constantly on the move.

I was just thinking about this guy still being on the run. I'm still shocked he hasn't been arrested by now or at least dead. I wonder what the motivation was.

It makes sense overall as Maine is a state with relatively low gun violence/mass shootings. So I guess they weren't really trained for something close to this scale.

The entire state is practically shut down. It’s eerie to hear nothing at all outside my house. This shooter is still out there, highly trained and we have no idea what to expect next. I can’t believe this is happening in my town. I’m in a nightmare right now.

The police obviously go through trainings and such for these situations but no training could prepare them for this. Two separate locations in such a small timeframe.

He also rambles on about the time when he was a teenager and saw Card with a dead deer after hunting with his friends. Also says a baby was killed in the shooting.

Those, just off of precedent, tend to be the most interesting and deadliest shootings. Ones in American states/east Asian villages with low crime rates/violence. Leaves all the deadly crime for an apex like some unhinged military vet. It’s been awhile since one like this happened (ex-military or cop I mean), some of the deadliest one-man rampages in world history are from cops that snap. It’d be cool to see another one of those too.

I know he is probably schizophrenic but that could actually help explain such behavior.
