He started wearing the trench coat a few weeks before the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., she said. And at one point, the group joked that he looked just like the Columbine shooters in it. But Pagourtzis laughed it off. “He laughed and put his hat on backwards, and we all laughed,” she said.
Statement from the family: We are saddened and dismayed by yesterday's events at Santa Fe High School. We extend our most heartfelt prayers and condolences to all of the victims. We also wish to thank all the first responders from all over Texas that assisted in rendering aid and support.
We are as shocked and confused as anyone else by these events that occurred. We are gratified by the public comments made by other Santa Fe High School students that show Dimitri as we know him: a smart, quiet, sweet boy. While we remain mostly in the dark about the specifics of yesterday's tragedy, what we have learned from media reports seems incompatible with the boy we love.
We share the public's hunger for answers as to why this happened, and will await the outcome of the investigation before speaking about these events. We have been and will continue to cooperate with the authorities conducting the investigation, and ask for the public's patience while it moves forward.
We ask the public to please extend privacy, both to the victims and to our own family, as all of us try process these events, and begin the healing process.

I hope they get some sort of answers, something to shed light on what made him do this.

Motive?
I'm guessing bulling, also Columbine inspired as well.
I also read from a few articles the shooter claimed he wanted to have "his story told" and stuff like that. My guess would be gaining infamy was a motive as well

Sadie Baze says she keeps expecting her daughter to walk into the house, but Shana Fisher was killed Friday, one of 10 people gunned down at her high school. "She's never going to walk through the front door again," Baze said.
Baze told CNN that the alleged shooter, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, had been making advances toward Shana, who just turned 16, for the past four months, asking her to date him. A week ago, during class, Shana stood up and told Pagourtzis she wouldn't go out with him, the mother said.
Baze said Pagourtzis previously dated Fisher's best friend and she had told her daughter "you don't date your friend's exes."
One of Pagourtzis’ classmates who died in the attack, Shana Fisher, “had 4 months of problems from this boy,” her mother, Sadie Rodriguez, wrote in a private message to the Los Angeles Times on Facebook. "He kept making advances on her and she repeatedly told him no.”
Pagourtzis continued to get more aggressive, and she finally stood up to him and embarrassed him in class, Rodriguez said. “A week later he opens fire on everyone he didn't like,” she wrote. “Shana being the first one.” Rodriguez didn’t say how she knew her daughter was the first victim.
...
Also from the last article, more Columbine imitation:
The gunman repeatedly taunted students during the attack, according to another harrowing account posted to Facebook by one survivor’s mother.
After scrambling to escape the shooter’s blasts in the art room, Isabelle Van Ness, covered in dust from rounds hitting her classroom walls, could hear the shooter in a next-door classroom yelling, “Woo hoo!” while shooting, according to her mother, Deedra Van Ness.
“The gunman then comes back into their room and they hear him saying … are you dead? Then more shots are fired,” Deedra Van Ness wrote. “By this time, cell phones all over the classroom are ringing and he’s taunting the kids in the closet asking them … do you think it’s for you? do you want to come answer it? Then he proceeds to fire more bullets into the closet and tries to get in.”

And then, let's say in two or three months, the next mass shooting will happen. It's been almost 20 years since Columbine, but nothing has changed. It's just sad.
Nah, nothing will be done, he didn't use a "Ar-15 assault style rifle"
the toll would be bigger im sure
unless us puts more security measures in schools this will continue to happen .
i dont believe teachers will carry a gun like someone speculated .
but i believe that some changes will happen like for example :
- somekind of security gate like u see in airports to detect weapons . - quick response of law enforcement ( which i think its getting better ) - somekind of department in school that exclusively deal with these kind of troubled kids ) .
thats what it comes to my mind right now , there are other possiblities im sure .
P.S - falling down im my top 5 movies .

One of the accounts that gets passed around as belonging to Pagourtzis is this one below (Comma Kazi). Although now they posted a message saying they were not in any way affiliated with the perpetrator.

Another account mentioned is this one (Comma Kazi). This one was pushed hard on 4Chan as belonging to the perpetrator. The videos were first posted just after the shooting, so it's most likely fake and someone is laughing his ass off.

So it wasn't Nazi imagery. He actually put an explanation of the stuff on his duster on his Facebook:
Hammer and Sickle = Rebellion Rising Sun = Kamikaze Tactics Iron Cross = Bravery Baphomet = Evil Cthulhu = Power
So he put together his own believe system and with the stuff on his duster he likely wanted to convey his views.

True. But it's not a stretch to say that some have possibly lurked the forum.

The Texas lieutenant governor argued Sunday that gun-toting teachers would have stopped last weeks’ massacre at a high school that left 10 people dead.
“We need our teachers to be armed,” Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “When you are facing someone who is an active shooter, the best way to take the shooter down is with a gun. Even better than that is four or five guns to one.”
Patrick harped on the need for fewer school exits, a point he previously made Friday after teen gunman Dimitrios Pagourtzis unleashed carnage at Santa Fe High School.
On Sunday, he reinforced a rationale floated by President Trump after the Parkland high school shooting and panned by some educators.
“We need armed teachers trained,” he said, “Of course not just anyone who has a gun, (but) trained how to handle active shooters in the schools.”
Patrick pointed to a Santa Fe High School teacher who served in the Marine Corps. and barricaded his classroom after spotting Pagourtzis open fire with his father’s .38-caliber handgun and shotgun.
“Some feel had he been able to carry a gun he would have been able to stop the shooter — had it been his choice,” he said.
The lieutenant governor said students who survived the shooting and their parents made the same argument to lawmakers.
Texas law leaves it up to school superintendents to decide if teachers should be armed in the classroom, Patrick said. It wasn’t immediately clear what that district’s policy was.

I agree with you but I also think that Dimitri was an exceptionally blatant Columbine copycat and this is the most active Columbine related forum, as far as I know, so it would make sense in this case. When was the last time we had a school shooter who actually wore a trench coat during his shooting?
I'm also getting the vibe that Dimitri was a Dylan fanboy rather than an Eric fanboy.

Interesting, a lot of Columbine copycats usually take after Eric.
That's why I brought it up. If it turns out to be true, it will be something slightly uncommon in terms of copycatting Columbine.
Dave Cullen said this: Cullen said a number of Columbine fans have come to admire Klebold in particular. "It’s a very powerful thing, this mythology. People think ‘Klebold was like me, he was tormented, and he struck back.’ He became the folk hero," Cullen said. "That’s the power and the danger of people mythologizing these guys and seeing them heroically."
I thought that it was a silly thing to say considering how many male Columbiners and copycats seem to primarily emulate or relate to Eric rather than Dylan (Pekka Auvinen, Sebastian Bosse, Alvaro Castillo, Kimveer Gill, Randy Stair, Karl Pierson, Alex Hribal) so it would be new to me. There are others that were interested in the Columbine shooting itself or those who mentioned both Eric and Dylan but I can't really think of a single copycat that emulated or cited Dylan as their primary influence (although this could be due to my own ignorance).

The suspect in Friday's school shooting may be considered an adult in Texas state courts, but he cannot face the death penalty, according to a 2005 federal Supreme Court ruling.
For 100 years, Texas has considered 17-year-olds to be adults when they commit crimes, according to research from The Marshall Project. And Dimitrios Pagourtzis was charged Friday as an adult with capital murder and aggravated assault on a peace officer.
But the 2005 high court ruling that bans execution of criminals younger than 18 and a 2012 ruling about juveniles facing life in prison mean that Pagourtzis could be up for parole after 40 years.
Pagourtzis sketched out plans for the grisly attack in his journal and home computer before entering Santa Fe High School in Texas where he was a student, killing 10 and wounding 13, prosecutors said.
Putting kids younger 18 to death was ruled cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the Eighth and 14th amendments, according to the 5-4 Roper v. Simmons case about the fate of Christopher Simmons, sentenced to death in 1993 for throwing a woman off a bridge.
In 2012, another landmark case, Miller v. Alabama, abolished mandatory life without parole for juveniles. That means Pagourtzis could be eligible for parole after 40 years in prison.
In 2005, then Texas Gov. Rick Perry commuted the death sentences of 28 juvenile offenders in prison to bring the state into compliance with the Roper decision. He also signed a law that removed the possibility of parole, which the 2012 Supreme Court ruling struck down.
“It’s wrong to say this young man can’t be held responsible for these crimes," Radelet said. "Forty years is a tough row to hoe, and even then a parole board might not agree he’s not totally damaged or able to make a satisfactory transition into the community in 2058.”
Texas is one of 31 states with the death penalty, but is slowly shedding its reputations as the top state to use it. The state has performed 551 executions since 1976, a little more than a third of executions nationwide.
Well this should make things interesting. He was charged as an adult, yet won't face the death penalty.

If his father owned them legally, I highly doubt it was sawn off. I'd imagine full length.
And the definition of a pistol is merely a small weapon able to be held in one hand.
that is handgun
a pistol is a subcategory
a .38 is a revolver
unless he had a .38 pistol, i dont know much about guns.
i assume the shotgun either a. had a pistol grip or was a nfa weapon that was legally registered as under 16 inches b. he stole it and then sawed it off to fit it in his coat

Your opinion lost all of its validity when you used "freaks" to describe mass shooters and nothing further. You should've just devoted your time to searching for his apparent account instead of writing out that paragraph.

So here’s my dilemma with the door argument. If you lessen the number of doors in a school, then that limits the number of exits for students when one of these situations occur. Now, you have a bunch of students basically sitting in a “fishbowl” waiting to the shot because they can’t get out. My childrens’ schools have increased their security by locking all the doors during school hours. The locks on the doors allow you to exit but you cannot enter without someone opening the door for you. This is what should be pushed instead of lessening the amount of exits.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Some have raised questions about Rodriguez’s claims, Los Angeles Times reporter Matt Pearce acknowledged on Twitter Sunday afternoon. “Other family friends have raised questions about the reliability of her claims and say they haven’t been able to corroborate her accounts about the shooter’s behavior toward her daughter,” Pearce wrote. The mom was allegedly “largely out of her daughter’s life” and some are questioning “how she would have learned details like that.”
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] The teenager who allegedly opened fire in a Texas high school and killed 10 people studied previous mass shootings before carrying out the attack, sources told ABC News. Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, researched tactics used by other mass shooters, the sources said. “He studied previous mass shootings and used aspects of those [attacks] in his own shooting,” a source told ABC News. Pagourtzis fatally shot 10 students and educators and injured 13 others early Friday in the classrooms and hallways of Sante Fe High School, according to authorities. Investigators have also determined that they don't expect to charge anyone else besides the alleged shooter, sources said. The sources told ABC News that they have questioned two "persons of interest" in the aftermath of the bloodshed but so far no other charges have been brought.

Has anyone found any vids/streams from the kids yet?
I haven't seen anything come up, which is a little shocking but makes sense to me. I wouldn't think of whipping out my phone in a situation like this.
