This song reminds me of Eric.
Quote :
As I survey the chaos, taking in the lack of raw humanity It's as if the entire world's fallen in love with their insanity Hear the innocent voices scream As their tormentors laugh through all of it No forgiveness for all I've seen A degradation I cannot forget
So sleep soundly in your beds tonight For judgement falls upon you at first light
I'm the hand of God I'm the dark messiah I'm the vengeful one (Look inside and see what you're becoming) In the blackest moments of a dying world What have you become (Look inside and see what you're becoming)
As the violence surges And the teeming masses have been terrorized Their human predators... all gone mad Are reaping profits born from their demise The rabid media plays their role Stoking the flames of war to no surprise Only too eager to sell their souls For the apocalypse must be televised
So sleep soundly in your beds tonight For judgement falls upon you at first light
I'm the hand of God I'm the dark messiah I'm the vengeful one (Look inside and see what you're becoming) In the blackest moments of a dying world What have you become (Look inside and see what you're becoming)
When you die You'll know why For you cannot be saved With all the world enslaved When you die You'll know why
When you die You'll know why For you could not be saved This world is too depraved When you die You'll know why
[x2:] I'm the hand of God I'm the dark messiah I'm the vengeful one (Look inside and see what you're becoming) In the blackest moments of a dying world What have you become (Look inside and see what you're becoming)
(Look inside and see what you're becoming)

The whole album is about Columbine and Eric/Dylan...Some of the videos you can look up separately from this playlist shows Bones inside Columbine and the videos are shot similar to Eric and Dylan's videos..Very neat to say the least..I'm a big fan of all of Bone's stuff

Bones - Klebold (music video shot inside Columbine)
Lyrics I look like Eric Harris, but you've never seen me bangin' I died up on the cross and I was buried in the manger If you brought some danger just speak up then you get hammered Doing damage, never panic, this ain't nothing for the labels
[Verse] Coming down while I'm rolling up Artesian water when I'm pouring up I'm clean as fuck, but I'm mean as fuck I got the blade on me if you runnin' up I'll dry myself in that blunt smoke Take shelter in dark flows Never see the sun because I'm on the moon Locked away, forever in my tomb
[Outro] Tryin' to make this money flow like waterfalls Whatever you do, know I'll be there no matter what the cause Whatever you see, just know I'll love you till we pass away Wherever you go, know I'll be right here if you needing me

Yeah so somebody's probably said it already and the title is obvious, but Gorillaz - Kids With Guns. Especially the opening lines 'Kids with guns, kids with guns, taking over, but it won't be long... They're mesmerized, skeletons... Kids with guns' makes me think of the initial reaction of the students. Also 'they're turning us into fire...' My $0.02 JM

The song that reminds me the most about Columbine, is "Megalomaniac" by KMFDM.

That song "Undone" by Weezer always makes me think of Eric. I may have already said that at one point in this thread but I've been listening to it and I still think of him every time I hear it.

If they ever did a decent movie about columbine, the first half of this song would be great to play when they go back to the library and see the damage they've done, looking out the shattered windows and seeing the chaos of cops, SWAT, rescue teams and media (including the helicopters), and maybe adding whatever emotion between the shooters, and have the suicides take place when the music picks up and the "back in school" part of the song starts. That's how I'd do it anyway haha

I used to love that Deftones album, White Pony. Well, still do. I'm pretty sure it came out shortly after Columbine, in 2000. I remember in the song "Change (In the House of Flies)" the lyrics state, "give you the gun...blow me away" yet in the booklet it said "give you the LUNGS...blow me away." I mean, I guess he COULD be saying 'lungs'...but it sounds more like 'gun' to me. Anyway, I always kinda wondered if they changed that line or censored it because of Columbine. You know, kinda like the list of banned songs after 9/11?

The part of this song that reminds me of Eric you have to listen to it with headphones to really hear it. On one side of the headphones you have him saying "If you want to destroy my sweater, hold this thread as I walk away" and on the other side he's saying "I don't want to destroy your sweater, let's be friends and just walk away". That makes me think of Eric every time.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], I always hear gun as well in the song change. The lyrics did say "lungs" which I never understood, I sang it as gun because that's what it sounds like Chino is saying. You could be right, I never thought of that, maybe the lyrics were changed in response to Columbine.

I imagine the shooters walk in when he sings "set you on fire", and they show Eric when he sings "cause I'm on fire", bloody nosed and half dazed half frustrated/disappointed. I think something like that would be kinda epic if done right haha. I always imagine soundtracks to everything.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I think at the time I remember hearing and they changed the lyrics from "gun" to "lungs" specifically b/c of columbine. I also remember whenever the movie Billy Madison played on tv around that time they edited out the scene where the kids stampede out of the auditorium when the antagonist pulls out a gun during the competition at the end haha

Youth Of The Nation by P.O.D. since the song was apparently inspired by the school shootings at Columbine and Santana High School.

Behind blue eyes by Limp Bizkit reminds me of Dylan.
'No one knows what it's like, to be the bad man, to be the sad man, behind blue eyes'
'But my dreams, they aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be'
'My love is vengeance, that's never free.'
Don't even know if Dylan's eyes were blue lol but that's not the point. The original by the Who is awesome but this version is so much more melancholy.

Yea, his eyes were blue. He had blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. It's one of the first things I noticed about him because I've got that same combination and not many people do. He's more blonde though and I'm more red but yea, it's what stood out to me about him.

Smash-The Offspring. I recently found the lyrics written in Dylan's school planner. The song just played on my playlist and it's actually extremely fitting.
Head over heels I've fit in before Now I don't want to do it no more I've held it all in with blood on my face Built it up man so bad you can taste
I don't slag no one I don't even judge Don't give a shit cause I'm not gonna budge I just want to be who I want to be Guess that's hard for others to see
I'm not a trendy asshole I do what I want I do what I feel like I'm not a trendy asshole I don't fuck if it's good enough for you 'Cause I'm alive
Smash is the way you feel all alone Like an outcast you're out on your own Smash is the way you deal with your life Like an outcast you're smashing your strife
Head over heels I've fit in before Now I don't want to do it no more I just want to be who I want to be Guess that's hard for others to see

The Columbine Memorial service reminded me of this Stone Roses song:
"I am the Resurrection"
Down down, you bring me down I hear you knocking at my door and I can't sleep at night Your face, it has no place No room for you inside my house I need to be alone
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do
Turn turn, I wish you'd learn There's a time and place for everything I've got to get it through Cut loose, you're no use I couldn't stand another second in your company
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do
Stone me, why can't you see You're a no-one nowhere washed up baby who'd look better dead
Your tongue is far too long I don't like the way it sucks and slurps upon my every word
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do
I am the resurrection and I am the light I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like
______________________
It could be sung in regards to the killers, I guess. Lots of calls for Christianity after the shooting, and this song quotes Jesus.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I just wanted to mention as an aside that this isn't the first time Deftones modified their lyrics in the album insert. Specifically, the song 'Mx' from 'Around the Fur':
Within the first few lines of the song, Chino clearly states 'you're so sweet/your smile/your PUSSY and your bones' yet in the booklet it reads, 'your MAGAZINE and your bones'. Like what? The two words don't even sound similar. And 'your magazine'? Is he talking about, like, a periodical? ...Or is it gun related? In which case, talking about someones' cat (HAH) would be preferential, no? And why change that word? I think it's safe to assume any fan of the Deftones has heard the word 'pussy' before. Then again, maybe originally they really did say 'your magazine' and changed it to 'pussy' after the booklet pressing. But I can't even imagine fitting the word in there at all.
It should also be noted, when you look up the lyrics online nowadays, it does say 'your pussy'. I was starting to think I was insane and imagined it saying 'magazine' in the booklet...good thing we actually have a copy of that album and I was able to confirm my suspicions.
Still. There goes my weekend.

Hahaha. Sorry. I'm a fool that tends to overthink things.
Whenever I've heard the name it's always been 'Def-tones'. I just noticed one day it also says 'Deft ones', haha.
LOL I love the Deftones and they are very skilled so honestly, it fits

Puscifer- The Arsonist. Aside from the hilarity of the Beavis and his love of fire reference, this song reminds me of Eric.
The Arsonist
Fire, fire, the bridge is on fire Burning away your last connection Fire, fire, our bridge is on fire Your social skills resemble arson
You seem okay with this So deleterious Remorse for you is not an option
What’s the matter, Beavis?
Why you gotta burn, gotta burn it all down?
What’s the matter, Beavis?
Burning it all down Burn down all the bridges
Fire, fire, shit’s on fire Beavis sure do love his matches
Choking on the smoke from the fire you’ve started Choking on the ash from the bridges you’ve burned
Daddy didn’t love you, gotta burn it all down What’s the matter, Beavis? Not the better brother, gotta burn it all down What’s the matter, Beavis? Why you gotta burn, gotta burn it all down?
Choking on the smoke from the fire you’ve started Choking on the ash from the bridges you’ve burned

I'm not sure why, but sometimes it just reminds me.

As well as obviously Pumped Up Kicks, Heathens by Twenty One Pilots kind of reminds me of Columbine: "You'll never know the psychopath sitting next to you, you'll never know the murderer sitting next to you."
There's also Mad World by Gary Jules, and My Immortal by Evanescence. I can imagine it being told by Sue Klebold's point of view- "When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears, when you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears, and I held your hand through all of these years"

This song by Lil Mouse reminds me of the 13 killed at Columbine
